Day 10: Templin

Today we went to where my ancestors came from. August Templin left from here in 1870. We visited the local Lutheran church St Mary Magdelines located on Martin Luther Street. We were allowed to climb the tower and got photos from the top. The city is or was surrounded by a wall and it can be seen in a few of the photos.

We then travelled towards Berlin with a stop off at Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. This one had far more infrastructure than the previous place. The prison wall and several buildings were still intact and have now been turned into museum exhibits. This camp, being so close to Berlin, held a large number of political prisoners.

We then drove in to Berlin where we will now stay 2 nights. We found a Chinese buffet for dinner.
