Day 1 - Rudeshime

After arriving at Frankfurt airport (and walking about 2km to find duty free alcohol), we got in the van and drove to Rudeshime on the Rhine. Once there, we got to our accommodation, had a shower and went out sightseeing. We took a cable-car ride to the top of the hill which gave a nice view up and down the Rhine. Unfortunately at this point we only had our digital camera with us and not our phones, and the camera decided to have zoom and focus issues. These were later (somewhat) sorted.

Rudeshime is a cute little cobble-stone tourist shopping district. The streets are narrow and the shops very close together. Here we had ice-cream and found a Christmas decoration shop.

Hey wow! The camera finally works

There was a beautiful big Catholic church with a clock tower.

I continued to have a huge fever through the night and went to bed at 6pm after a dinner of bratwurst and chips. I woke in the night at 9pm and the sun was still up. In my feverish stupor, I thought it was morning and woke Chris up declaring that we were late and the others would be waiting for us.

There was a beautiful big castle across the river on top of the hill.
